Tenner is a savings app and contactless card for teenagers. Teens set goals and spend what they choose. Parents top up, set the limits and see every payment.
Every pound in Tenner lives in a goal, a jar or the spend balance. Nothing sits around waiting to be spent by accident.
Name it, set the amount, choose a date. Tenner works out how much a week gets you there and nudges when you are behind.
Parents set the amount and the day. It lands automatically, and can be paused from the parent app if it needs to be.
Spend £2.10 on the bus and 90p rolls into a goal. Small, boring, and it adds up to about £11 a month for the average teen.
Parents post a job with a price. The teen marks it done, the parent taps approve, the money moves.
Lunch, bus, phone credit. Money in a jar is ring-fenced from the spend balance so the week's essentials are always covered.
Drag the sliders to see what a weekly amount turns into when it lands in a goal instead of a pocket.
Plus roughly £55 from round-ups over that time. Enough for a festival ticket with change.
The parent app is not a spying tool, it is a settings panel. Everything below can be changed in a tap and takes effect straight away.
A daily cap, a single-payment cap and an optional weekly budget. Defaults are £250 a day and £100 a payment, and you can go lower.
Card left in a locker? Freeze it from your phone. Unfreeze when it turns up. The teen sees the same switch, and is told who flipped it.
Online payments, cash machines and spending abroad are each a switch. Gambling, alcohol and tobacco merchants are blocked for everyone and cannot be turned on.
A notification for every payment, or just the big ones. Sunday evening you get a one-screen summary of what was spent and saved.
Teens can ask for a top up, a higher limit for a day, or a new goal. You approve or decline in the app, with a note if you want.
We make money from a small fee the shop pays when the card is used, the same as any debit card. The teen and the parent never pay us anything. The limits are there for safety, not for profit.

Parents can lower any of these. The balance and daily caps cannot be raised above the defaults, whoever asks.
A parent or legal guardian opens the account. The teen gets their own login and their own app the moment it is approved.
Confirm your identity with a photo of your passport or driving licence and a short video selfie. This is a legal requirement and takes about three minutes.
Their name, date of birth and the address the card should go to. You can add up to four teens to one parent account.
A link goes to their phone. They pick a pin, a card colour, and set their first goal before the card even arrives.
The card arrives in about three working days. Activate it in the teen app, and your first top up is on it in seconds.
Money for a 14 year old should be at least as safe as money for a 40 year old. Here is how it is kept that way.
Tenner is not a bank. Balances are held by our regulated e-money partner in a safeguarded account at a high street bank, kept separate from any company money.
Gambling, alcohol, tobacco and adult merchants are blocked at the card network level. Neither app has a switch for them.
The full 16 digits only show in the teen app after face unlock or a pin, and the parent can turn online payments off entirely.
Lost cards are frozen instantly from either app. Payments the teen did not make are refunded under the card scheme's rules, usually within five working days.
We do not sell spending data or show ads in either app. The only marketing a teen ever sees from us is a birthday message.
There is no overdraft, no credit and no buy now pay later. If the balance is £4.20, the card can spend £4.20.
No. Money can only leave the card by paying at a shop, withdrawing cash where you have allowed it, or sending it back to the parent account. Every one of those shows up in your app at the moment it happens.
The account keeps working for 90 days after their birthday with the same limits. In that window they can move the balance to any British bank account in their name. After that the card closes and any remaining balance goes back to the parent account.
No. Tenner is a prepaid debit card, not credit. Nothing is reported to credit reference agencies, positively or negatively.
Yes. One parent opens the account and can invite a second adult, who gets the same controls. Either can be removed by the account holder at any time.
Free for the family, ready in about ten minutes, and the card is in the post by the end of the week.
