The move

The hero panel is a pure CSS and SVG composition instead of a photograph: a warm radial-gradient field with a faint scan-line multiply layer, a drawn cheese wheel with a wedge cut out so the paste shows, a stamped year on the rind, an "11°C" reading pinned top right and a card at the bottom that names a real wheel number and price. It takes snowpeak's one-object hero and ritual's split panel but draws the object, which lets the page ship self-contained and gives the cave temperature a place on the fold before the reader ever scrolls to the cave section, where the same number returns at nine rem.

What Inspo gave it

The captures it studied, and exactly what each one contributed.

  • Warbyparker - The fold shape: sentence-case serif headline in the left 40 percent, two pill CTAs stacked beside each other, a trust line of four promises directly under them, then a "new arrivals" product row below the fold. Its warm cream paper (#e4d4cc) and a 55px serif h1 at weight 400 set the paper and the display weight.

  • Ritual - The split hero with an off-white text panel and a visual on the other half, the single italic word as the only flourish in the headline, and the "Shop bestsellers / Shop all" head-with-link pattern reused for every section head.

  • Snowpeak - A single product object as the whole hero visual, sharp against a soft warm field, headline anchored low-left. The hero panel here is the same idea with one drawn wheel instead of a photograph, plus the green band of promises translated into the proof strip.

  • fermliving-com - Product-page economy: name, price, one black action button, warm beige ground (#daccb8) and a small display-to-body scale jump. The cheese cards and the "add 250 g" buttons follow it.

  • Organic Grocery Delivery - Meal solutions and grocery items from the Deli, Bakery, Pantry, and more. - Category card grid with bottom labels and the terracotta and honey accents (#a54324, #df8c0c) that pushed the accent toward a rind orange rather than a red.

How it was built

The actual MCP calls, in order.

  1. recommend
brief "A cheese-making dairy cooperative: pastoral, cave-aged, shop-led", detail full

Picked Marquee Hero from mostly tech exemplars (ritual-com, headroom-com, mage-ai, analogue-co, generalcondition-com); the evidence packet said the genre gravity is 75 percent grotesk sans on light paper, which I decided to go against with a roman serif. Also carried the spacing and hero-fit guidance.

  2. search_screens
query "artisan food producer farm shop warm editorial serif", industry food-beverage, paperBand light, limit 8, detail full

    fellowproducts-com--pages-app, goodeggs-com, eater-com, mirazur-fr--en-reservation-html, ritual-com, cooking-nytimes-com--about-us, chickfila-com; goodeggs and ritual were the useful ones.

  3. search_screens
query "craft product catalogue with prices, rustic heritage brand, serif display", displayClass roman-serif, paperBand light, limit 8, detail full

    craft-do, casper-com, fermliving-com--products-muses-clio, classcreator-io, claude-ai, cluely-com--blog, zed-dev, svelte-dev; fermliving was the one that fit.

  4. find_reference_components
    type hero

Seven canonical hero JSX shapes; the split-screen one (typography on one half, pure-CSS atmospheric panel on the other) is the skeleton of this fold.

  5. find_components
type footer, color earthy, mode light, limit 6

Only arcteryx-com came back, a product page crop; not used.

  6. find_examples_for_macrostructure
name catalogue, limit 6, detail full

Thin coverage, only emigre-com; confirmed a product-grid landing should borrow from portfolio-grid sites instead.

  7. get_screen
    slug fermliving-com--products-muses-clio

Full record and autopsy: warm beige ground, black rectangular add-to-cart, small scale jump.

  8. find_components
type pricing, color warm, mode light, limit 6

    Zero results.

  9. search_screens
query "farm, countryside, terroir, wine estate, heritage producer", vibe warm, color earthy, limit 8, detail full

    museum-wales, cornellbotanicgardens-org, snowpeak-com, daptonerecords-com, everlane-com, fermliving-com--products-muses-clio, warbyparker-com, lyft-com; snowpeak and warbyparker became primary references.

  10. get_design_system
    slug warbyparker-com, live false

Type ramp (55px serif h1 at 400, 16px body, 13px caption), radius scale up to 50px pills, colour roles.

  11. get_screen
    slug snowpeak-com

Full autopsy: one object hero, low-left headline, promise band below the fold.

  12. find_reference_components
    type footer

Seven footer archetypes; the Address card (Ft8) is the footer here, with no social row and no link map.

  13. find_reference_components
    type stat

Six stat shapes; the 4-stat row became the proof strip, the 6-stat grid became the farms grid, the single hero stat became the 11 degrees in the cave section.

Palette, traced

Every token, and the reference it came from.

  • --paper#f1ebe0Page ground. A cream between warbyparker's #e4d4cc and fermliving's #daccb8, lightened so the long product sections stay airy.
  • --curd#faf6ecCard and panel surface for cheeses, steps, hours and the map; one step lighter than paper so cards lift without borders.
  • --ink#1f1a14All text, the solid pill buttons and the basket outline; a warm near-black rather than pure black so it sits on cream.
  • --muted#6e6256Secondary copy, eyebrows, prices' units and footer notes.
  • --rule#d9cfbfEvery hairline: nav border, proof strip, farm grid gutters, season rows and hours tables.
  • --rind#b8641fThe single accent, a washed rind orange pulled from goodeggs' honey and fermliving's #cd7f31. Lands on italic headline words, the eyebrow dash, the tour button and the current-season marker.
  • --cave#2b2622The one dark band, the cave section, so eleven degrees reads as somewhere else on the page.
