Start on Harbour Square, climb gently through Old Town to Northgate, cross Kestrel Park, swing round the university and come home along the River Calder and the waterfront to Cathedral Green.
Your wave is set by the predicted finish time you give at entry. Pens open at 06:15 on Harbour Square and close ten minutes before each start. You cannot move forward a wave on the day, but you can always drop back.

Course record bonuses in 2027: £25,000 for a men's or women's record, £8,000 for the wheelchair record, on top of a £180,000 prize purse split equally across the three divisions.
Five official cheer zones with music, toilets, coffee and a big screen. Each one is a short walk from a tram stop, and you can see the leaders and the last wave from the same spot within four hours.
The first big crowd of the day. Runners come through twice within a minute on either side of the central reservation. Tram stop Northgate.
Elevated views down onto the field as it turns for home. Students run the loudest zone on the course. Tram stop University.
Where the race gets decided. Quiet enough to shout a name and be heard. Ten minutes on foot from Cathedral Green, so you can see two points.
Full sun, sea air and 800 metres of dead straight road. Bring a sign. Tram stop Marina.
Grandstand seats are £12, standing is free along the last 300 metres. Family reunion area by letter behind the medal tent.

The outer ring road, the hospital access route and all tram lines stay open all day. Residents inside the loop receive a permit letter and a marshal-escorted crossing at Park Road between 08:00 and 12:00.
Early entry saves £40 on the late price and guarantees your wave. Places went in 11 weeks last year. Entries close on 21 March 2027, and the count above says how long you have.
